The Tough Topanga 10K WILL TAKE
PLACE this year but it will
NOT take
place on the Saturday
of Memorial
Day Weekend 2009.
Because of a scheduling conflict with
this year’s L.A. Marathon the Topanga 10K
(like many other small races) has been
forced to change its Race Day.
Greetings Topanga 10K Runners,
The Tough Topanga 10K will not be held in 2009 on Memorial Day Weekend Saturday due to the Los Angeles Marathon being scheduled for that same weekend.
As you may know one of the major components of the Tough Topanga 10K the last several years has been the participation of young runners from Santa Monica Police Athletic League (PAL) and Students Run L.A. among other groups. All of these runners have been training for the L.A. Marathon and are not able to come to our race, so we have made the decision to reschedule the 10k.
We sincerely apologize. We are now tentatively rescheduling the Topanga 10K for the third Saturday in October, which is October 17th, 2009. Next year in 2010, the race will be held as usual on Memorial Day weekend. We hope you understand our decision to support these young athletes and look
forward to seeing you all in October.

Note: This course is rugged and very steep.
